Enric Llevat interprets Aureli Ruiz

AURELI RUIZLove indifference

57 X 57 cm. Cushion covered with thermal insulation drawn with permanent marker, 2007.

The dialogue with Aureli’s work has been an intuitive image, one of those pictures that passes by to your head flying into the unconscious or the conscious, I would not know that well, while talking to someone . I imagined Aureli, in his study, obsessed by his drawings, philosophical dissertations, anthropological and conceptual, he becomes a drawing, all a work in himself, and this has happened.

Gisela Pau interprets Carles Amill

Carles Amill S.T.

110 X 76 cm. Printing on paper

The work of Carles Amill shows a footprint of an individual faceless, soulless and without memory. An uncommunicating body collected in himself, without any element of contextuality. Only traces of being in a fetal position to remember its origins.

Amill represents this isolation with the trace of a person, I will present a fishbowl, symbol of closure and difficult exit for those who live in it.

In this fishbowl there coexist two fishes: silent, irrational, cold and lone swimmers. They do not establish any communication between them, either verbal or physical. This home, transparent and fragile, lets us see them, and if we want, we can access, while for them this crystalline wall is an insurmountable barrier with the outside world.

Its immediate environment is a group of similar: inanimate, attractive, provided and beautiful individuals, that’s for  their condition  they do not establish any links between them and consequently also with their fellow prisoners.

It presents a situation, a constant in our modern society, where personal relationships are more difficult in today unreal environments.

Núria Rión interprets Rufino Mesa

Rufino Mesa - Espacio vacío para la danza de Rumï.

Granit de l’ex-URSS, 190 x 115 x 112 cm. La Comella 2007.

I decided to touch it with my hands, to have contact, to learn and maybe to dialogue as well.
Walking around and looking for the landscape memory I have found the magic of the stones. They have a lot of strength and a warm energy that talk about our history.

In words of Rufino Mesa “ A stone also speaks about us and can be humanized, it represents us fully.  We have a feeling that they transpire the breath of the eternity, something that is an unanswerable question for us.

” Behind the strength of the material and the force of the monolith, there are marks of the time passed. We can see the contact  with air, water, human activity on the stone’s surface. I’m going to extract its skin.
